SKB EP Took Part in the IDGC Professional Contest
Subject of the contest changes every year. This year participants were to demonstrate their professional skills in two types of activities: repair and maintenance of substation equipment and repair and servicing the cable networks.
SKB EP people took part in the contest within the framework of the Fair that was organized in parallel with the contest. The SKB EP Company exhibited its new developments, namely, the MIKO-10 portable microohmmeter, high-precision MIKO-21 microohmmeter, and a well-proven PKV/M7 analyzer for HV circuit breaker testing.
During contest the SKB EP specialists managed to participate in three contests of such companies as:
- PJSC IDGC of Volga. Representatives from seven branches and guests of the contest (JSC Samaraneftegas and LLC Udmurtenergoneft teams) took part in the contest of this company. Professional contest organized by IDGC of Volga was held on the base of a training center of Penza production unit of the Penzaenergo branch. Samara Networks was the winner.
People from the IDGC of Volga branches were well aware of the instruments manufactured by SKB EP, particularly of analyzers for HV circuit breaker control, such as the PKV/M6N, PKVM7, and the MIKO-1 microohmmeter.
All the guests of the stand were unanimous in their opinion on the benefits of the instruments, for example, they noted the availability of an in-built thermometer in the PKV/M6N that ensures on-line diagnostics; universal nature of the PKV/M7, and availability of a special program for PC that raises the quality of works; they noted that the MIKO-1 is easy, simple and reliable in operation.
Moreover, all the tree instruments (PKV/M6N, PKV/M7, and MIKO1) were used at all the stages of the contest within the tests performed by IDGC of Volga branches.
- Contest of PJSC IDGC of the Northern Caucasus. Seven teams participated in this contest for three days; Stavropolenergo was the winner.
Contest was held at the training center in the Town of Izobilny, Stavropol kray. Within seven stages the energy specialists were to repair the ZRU 10kV vacuum circuit breaker on the trolley, and repair and adjust the 100kV disconnecting device.
At one of the stages of the contests the transient resistances of contacts were to be measured using a commercial-scale MIKO-1 microohmmeter manufactured by the SKB EP.
A commercial-scale MIKO-1 microohmmeter is intended for measuring the transient resistances in the range of 0 ÷ 20000 mkOhmin high-voltage and automatic circuit breakers, contactors, disconnectors, connecting devices and relays; bolted, welded and solder joints of electrical pathways and buses; rail fastenings, wheelpairs, etc.
Measurement current of the MIKO-1 (up to 50A) runs regularly and for sufficient time; the instrument in general is robust in operation in powerful electromagnetic fields. An in-built battery of the MIKO-1 ensures its independence, and its capacity is sufficient for performing 100 measurements.

In the course of the contest people of the SKB EP Company identified “their winner”, Dmitry Kozubenko (SPS of Prikumsky Networks, a branch of PJSC IDGC of the Northern Caucasus, Stavropolenergo).
- Contest organized by JSC Tyumenenrgo that took part in Nizhnevartovsk where for five days the best representatives of the Company’s units were contesting at the training center specially equipped for the contest. A team of Nizhnevartovsk Electric Networks was superior to all the other teams.
Participants and guests of contests have long beenin cooperation with the SKB EP and have been using such instruments as PKV/M6N, PKV/M7 and MIKO-1 for several years and gave their positive references on them.
At a stage of contest on “Repair of the ZRU 10kV Vacuum Circuit Breaker” the teams were to measure transient resistances of contacts using a new SKB EP instrument, a high-precision MIKO-21 microohmmeter.
Modern MIKO-21 microohmmeter is a high-precision instrument (error does not exceed ±0.05%), range of measurements is from 0.1 mkOhm to 2 Ohm, rated current is up to 200A. The instrument integrates four special modes for transient resistances measurement. Availability of an in-built data base of passport values of resistances (Rtransient) of circuit breaker contacts allows automatic comparison of measured and passport values, subject to circuit breaker brand indication.

The tests the participants were subjected to included: examination of knowledge, first aid to the suffered, liquidation of fire on the equipment, as well as technical procedures related to the main activity of teams on repair and maintenance of substation equipment, where SKB EP instruments can be used.
It should be noted that in July the Leningrad oblast will host inter-regional contests of PJSC ROSSETI Subsidiaries. Teams-winners will represent their Subsidiaries at a federal level. SKB EP representatives will also take part in the final contests within the Far.
