Workshop Held by SKB EP for Specialists of KEGOC Company

Late in June the SKB-EP Company together with the official dealer PATENT-DUBLE Company held a workshop for engineers, foremen and electricians of Southern MES and Sarbaiskie MES of the KEGOC Company. Workshop participants deal with diagnosis and maintenance of high-voltage circuit breakers, and their main interest was focused on procedures of the equipment diagnosis using the PKV/M7 analyzer.

PKV/M7 analyzer is a modern universal device for control and diagnosis of the condition of oil and SF6 circuit breakers (up to four breaks). The device registers speed, travel and time parameters, allows measurement of currents and voltages of electromagnets, high currents of solenoid coils using the current clamps. The PKV/M7 analyzer is completed with different fittings for attaching measurement transducers to all the types of Russian and foreign high-voltage circuit breakers (Siemens, Areva, ABB et al.).

On June 26-27 on substation in Karatau City the practical training was held on the circuit breakers of VMT-220 and LTB- 23D1/B type (FSA1 drive, ABB brand); on June, 29 the workshop was held in the Rudny city on SIEMENS SION 3AE circuit breakers of 6(10) kV class, and on 3AP1-DT-245. Main attention was given to accurate diagnosis of high-voltage circuit breakers of different types and brands during acceptance and regular tests of rated characteristics using the PKV/M7 analyzers.

According to the Workshop attendees, the PKV/M7 analyzer is rather adaptable to HV circuit breakers of Russian manufacture, for example to the oil circuit breaker of VMT-220 type; it contains an in-built template of measurement settings and tables for converting the drive shaft rotation angle into linear displacement of moving contacts. A new measurement template and a new conversion table for circuit breakers of foreign manufacture (ABB and SIEMENS) can be easily created.

Workshop attendees got answers to all their questions; peculiarities of the PKV/M7 operation were shown and PC software use was explained; methods for interpretation of the obtained graphs were trained; typical failures of circuit breakers that can be detected by graphs interpretation were demonstrated.

Different presentations were made during the Workshop. Following the request of JSC KEGOS specialists, the functions of MIKO-2.3 micromillikiloohmmeter and peculiarities of its operation were demonstrated; a special-purpose device for controlling the OLTC devices of PKR-2 transformers was also presented.

After the theoretical and practical training the Workshop attendees noted functionality and simplicity of operation of devices manufactured by SKB EP, LLC. High appraisal of the devices by JSC KEGOC was confirmed by their desire to further cooperate with the Manufacturer and to continue equipping their production units with modern diagnostics equipment.
