SKB EP Participation in the Qualification Contest Held by PJSC Gazprom Neft

On September 26-29, 2017 a Qualification Contest was held in Nizhnevartovsk among the companies providing services to network facilities of PJSC Gazprom Neft, Upstream. The Contest was held on the base of a training center of Nizhnevartovsk Electric Networks of JSC Tymenenergo branch.

Teams of LLC, Noyabrskenergoneft; LLC, Megionenergoneft; LLC, Energoneft Tomsk and LLC, Energotechservis were participating in the Contest.

Each team was to go through seven stages: Testing the Theoretical Knowledge, The Best Foreman of the Network Area; The Best Electrician on Electric Equipment Repair and Servicing in the Network Area; The Best Team of Electricians on Electric Equipment Maintenance and Servicing; The Best Electrician of Relay Protection and Automatic Equipment (RZA and GI); Fire Suppression on KTP-10/0.4kV Transformer; First Aid to the Suffered from Electric Shock.

STAGE 4: Operating the PKV/M7 analyzer on the high-voltage C-35 circuit breaker.

According to the schedule of the Contest, Stage 4 suggested selection of the “Best Team of Electricians”, which required control of press-in and simultaneousness of poles switching, and review of parameters of the C-35 oil circuit breaker opening using the PKV/M7 analyzer for control of high-voltage circuit breakers. Most of the specialists have already had the experience of using the SKB EP instruments, they have given positive references on their operation, and therefore, almost all of them did a good job.

SKB EP representatives participated in the activity as experts and as participants of the exhibition organized in parallel with the Contest. Exhibited were new products of SKB EP, namely MIKO-10 microohmmeter, MIKO-21 high-precision microohmmeter, a modern MIKO-9 microohmmeter. Throughout the stages the specialists showed interest towards new developments of the Company, could perform tests themselves and check the availability of declared functions of the instruments both on the stand and in practice.

Along with exhibiting new products, on the last day of the contests one of the SKB EP specialist held a ‘master-class’ for all the teams. It was devoted to testing the mechanical characteristics of a C-35 circuit breaker using the PKV/M7 analyzer.

During preparing for the activity it was found out that some nodes of the circuit breaker has never been tested and even more, nobody even knew about their existence. We mean protection mechanism from ‘jumping’ that was in disorder (failure of a current-limiting resistor).

Following the results of a ‘master-class’ where the instrument was demonstrated in real operation, the teams came to a conclusion that they had been using only 20% of the PKV/M7 analyzer’s functions. During the ‘master-class’ the trainees asked question and submitted the results of their trial diagnoses of high-voltage equipment.

Upon termination of the Contests the organizers summed up the results, identified the best team at each stage and, certainly, the winner. Most of the teams managed the complicated tasks successfully, demonstrated good theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The teams got a valuable experience and confirmed their high professional level.
