Results of the Training Workshop for Specialists of JSC "Gidroremont-VKK"
In mid-September 2015, SKB EP has held an individual training workshop in Nevinnomyssk at the invitation of Kuban branch of JSC "Gidroremont-VKK" The program of the individual training workshop accounted for the high-voltage equipment stock and purchased SKB EP instruments.

Kuban branch operates PKV/U3.0 and PKV/М7 instruments for control of high-voltage circuit breakers, and MIKO-1 microohmmeter. Workshop participants told SKB EP experts about their experience in operating these instruments:
- "MIKO-1 microohmmeter is very easy to use, since it has an independent power supply, small size and weight. Management of the measurement process is simple and understandable for everyone.
- PKV/M7 is a modern and functional instrument that we use to control VMT-100 high-voltage circuit breakers.
- Since VVSH-110 type air circuit breakers constitute the most of the high-voltage stock of HEP-2, PKV/U3.0 is the optimal choice. This is one of the few instruments that allow control of air circuit breakers with due regard to their design features. In addition, thanks to PC software, we provide a comprehensive diagnostics by the main characteristics, which gives information about the incipient defects".
The first day, we have held a practical work with PKV/U3.0 on the VVSH-110 type air circuit breaker. During the tests, there were questions regarding the proper assembly of the measuring circuit. Typically, for control of air circuit breakers, experts always open the shunt resistors, which may have been avoided by using a dedicated “Mode 2” in the software settings (PKV/U3.0 works with a notebook) that shall be set before the start of the control of this type of circuit breakers. Furthermore, for proper oscillography of pole contacts condition it is necessary to unground the high-voltage circuit breaker on one side, because when both sides are grounded, the state of the contacts is determined incorrectly.

In the course of the work, further adjustments of the measurements and data analysis have been carried out. Practice has shown that the knowledge of experts from JSC "Gidroremont-VKK" regarding the work with SKB EP equipment is at a decent level.

The second day, we have held a theoretical work: introduction of participants to new SKB EP developments, analysis of the diagnostics results from the first day by the charts and digital data, and answering the questions. As a part of the theoretical part, all the main aspects of work with SKB EP instruments on the high-voltage equipment have been discussed, but special attention, at the request of the participants, was given to demonstrate the features of the measurement and detection of defects in the mechanisms of high-voltage circuit breakers.
