TRANSFORMER DEMAGNETIZATION

The demagnetization process is a mandatory procedure before conducting the open-circuit test, measuring the short-circuit loss, measuring the transformation ratio, and eliminating the remnant magnetization of the transformer magnetic core, therefore the modern milli-ohmmeter MIKO-9A is equipped with this mode.

The main purpose of MIKO-9A is the DC electrical resistance measurement, but in the demagnetization mode the instrument works at 100%. MIKO-9A can be used for both single-phase and three-phase transformers demagnetization.

Demagnetization of the transformer magnetic system is realized in accordance with GOST 3484.1-88 - by sequential electric current supply to the corresponding winding in the direct and reverse directions, while the current decreases with each change of direction.

The user can work both in fully automated mode and in manual mode with a change in the measurement step up to 1%.
