Results of SKB EP Travelling Seminars in Tomsk and Novosibirsk

In early August, SKB of Electric Instrument Engineering in conjunction with the official dealer Terra Impex, LLC has held a series of training seminars under the program "Control of High-Voltage Switching Devices and Transformers with SKB EP Instruments".

The specialists from the branch of JSC Tomsk Distribution Company of PJSC ROSSETI, the branch of Tomsk PMES of PJSC UES FGC and the representatives of Sukhoi Company, JSC – the Novosibirsk plant named after V.P. Chkalov took part in these training seminars.

As part of the training courses, such new developments as MIKO-21 microohmmeter and instrument for control of PKR-2М transformer OLTCs were presented.

Seminar participants could get acquainted with the interface of instruments and put questions to the official representative of the company. Many participants noted the important advantage – high quality equipment at an affordable price that distinguishes SKB EP instruments from foreign manufacturers.

New instruments have attracted interest due to a number of parameters:

  • MIKO-21 microohmmeter has fetch the attention due to its high accuracy (error of less than ± 0.05%), interactivity (control via membrane keyboard and touch screen color display) and advanced functionality.

In addition, only in SKB EP microohmmeters the resistance Rtrans. of contacts of core and dead tank circuit breakers is measured in separate modes optimized for these circuit breakers. Special algorithms with automatic stop of the measurement make it possible to eliminate human errors and increase the number of measurements for a single battery charge.

Built-in battery, small size and weight make it possible to provide full autonomy and high mobility of the instrument, for example, within a wide area of substation or plant, as it eliminates the hassle with a power cord, cable extenders and grounding; allows putting the instrument as close as possible to the circuit breaker terminals.

  • DRM method implemented in instruments for control of PKR-2М transformer OLTCs has been singled out, as it does not require the following: opening of tank or hatch of operating/defective OLTC and oil drain; extra funds and labor to carry out diagnostics of OLTCs; connection of additional elements or knowledge of the resistance of current-limiting resistors for the instrument under test, as all tuning for a specific OLTC is made in the instrument automatically.

Ability to carry out radial diagram measurement and oscillography for resistor and reactor type OLTCs, oscillography of resistor OLTC contactor switching and construction of the table with the number of revolutions of the drive shaft at the switch points.

The seminar was highly appreciated by the audience and was useful in the exchange of experiences between the manufacturer and users of the instruments.
