Participation in the Fair-Forum "RUGRIDS-ELECTRO 2015"
An international "RUGRIDS-ELECTRO. Russian networks. New potentials" Forum was held in Moscow on October 20-23, 2015. The Forum offered a wide business program and involved the largest RUGRIDS-ELECTRO exhibition of the power industry.
Leading companies of power industry, producers of high-tech equipment, Russian and international developers of integrated control systems, and innovation companies took part In the Rugrids-Electro exhibition.
The SKB-EP stand was visited by more than 70 people. They were mainly energy specialists dealing with maintenance and operation of HV equipment and its manufacturers: MOESK, MRSK brnches, Tyumenenergo, Kalugaenergo, Lenenergo, Electro-Technical plants, Energomera, Power Machines-Toshiba, HV Transformers, Siemens LLC, GK Tavrida Electric, ABB and many others.
Exhibited was the entire range of SKB EP instruments for non-destructive HV circuit breakers and transformers control; the latest developments were also presented: the MIKO-21 microohmmeter, a prototype of the MIKO-10 microohmmeter, and the PKR-2M, a specific-purpose instrument for transformer LTS control.
Despite the fact that the MIKO-10 is currently under tests and pilot operation for entering into the State Registrar of Instrumentation, and its manufacture is planned to be started in Q1, 2016, the instrument raised special interest owing to a number of its performances:
- A unique ergonomic case that is comfortably placed on the wrist and fixed by tighten belts, thus leaving both hands free to facilitate the measurements (the instrument can be easily removed from the wrist and fastened to a belt or installed on any flat surface);
- Its light weight (0.5 kg) small size (150x110x55mm) and an in-built battery allow us to call it a mobile self-powered instrument;
- Express-measurements of electric resistance in the range of 1 ÷ 100 000 mkOhm with the error as low as ± 0.2%.
The MIKO-21, the only microohmmeter at the market whose measurement accuracy is ±0.05%, attracted attention due to such performances as:
- High accuracy of the results of measurements (the error does not exceed ±0.05% ) and competitive price at the microohmmeter market;
- Availability of an in-built base of passport values of resistances (Rtransient) of circuit breaker contacts ensures automatic comparison between measured and passport values subject to circuit breaker brand indication;
- Interactive control using a film keyboard and a sensor screen of a color display, and advanced functions (control from a PC, USB/USB Flash port) simplify data transfer from the instrument to the company's data base;
- Measurement of transient resistances of HV circuit breaker contacts with account of an in-built current transformer on DC current of 200A in the range from 1 mkOhm to 20 Ohm.
The PKR-2M instrument for transformer LTC raised great interest of specialists owing to its application. Russian power industry specialists happened to know little about non-destructive testing (DRM-test) of transformer LTCs.
Integration of DRM-test in the PKR-2M instrument eliminates opening the LTC cover and oil drainage; allows avoidance of additional costs and man-hours for LTC diagnosis; eliminates connection of additional accessories and knowledge on resistances of a current-limiting resistor of the tested item as the instrument automatically adjusts to a particular LTC device.
The PKR-2M operation allows recording the circular diagrams for LTC of reactor and resistor type, as well as oscillograms of LTC resistor contactor switch-over.
Out of the instruments showed at the instrumentation market the visitors of the fair gave preference to the MIKO-1, MIKO-2.3, and PKV/M7 instruments. Specialists shared operating experience, asked about peculiarities of the instruments operation and gave advices on further expansion of the products range:
The MIKO-2.3 micromilliohmmeter is a universal instrument that operates in four modes: microohmmeter, milliohmmeter, kiloohmmeter, and thermometer, that allows solution of all the tasks on measuring the DC electric resistance of switchgear nodes. Moreover, its weight being as low as 2.7 kg, the MIKO-2.3 outputs current of up to 1000A (high current burns through the oxide films formed on the contacts that give a considerable error at resistance measurement).
The PKV/M7 instrument for HV circuit breakers control and its present-day functions: All the computations are made automatically and are displayed in the form of understandable graphs and tables. Results can also be stored in the instrument archive for further analysis and for reports compilation; all the data can be downloaded to the computer, if necessary.
The ABB Company exhibited a vacuum resistive LTC device of VUCG type, its latest development. The HV equipment manufacturer was interested in the instruments for diagnosis of their product, and the SKB EP specialist demonstrated operation of the MIKO-8 milliohmmeter and of specific-purpose PKR-2M instrument with a non-destructive control mode. Oscillography of one phase of LTC contactor was demostrated.

At the Forum the SKB EP specialist took part in the discussion "Power transformers: operation, diagnosis, maintenance and extension of service life" organized by Energoexpert Journal. He delivered a report on "Means for power transformers LTS diagnosis. Examples of ensuring and raising the reliability of control at LTC nodes maintenance".
The subject of LTC diagnosis, especially integration of specific-purpose equipment into the process of power transformer state diagnosis aroused considerable interest and generated many questions.
If you failed to visit our stand, you can always get information on the instruments you are interested in by contacting us via e-mail skb@skbpribor.com, by telephone +7(3952) 719-148, or by feedback at our site.
If you are interested in more detailed study of the instruments, the SKB EP Company offers training workshops. The workshop plan will be customer-oriented, i.e., developed with account of procured instruments and/or instruments the customer is interested in, and of the available objects for diagnosis. You can make an order for the workshop at our site, and our specialists will contact you.
