Results of Participation in the Energy and Electric Engineering Fair - 2016

On May 17-20, 2016 the Energy and Electric Engineering Fair - 2016 was held in St. Petersburg that became one of the main fairs in Russia. A key point of the Fair is presentation of the latest information of the industry, attendance by target audience, and presentation of new development in energy sector.

The SKB EP booth was visited by more than 70 people, including representatives from well-known manufacturers of HV circuit breakers and transformers, representatives of Russian Railways Company, from different industrial enterprises, from commissioning, engineering and construction companies, and from different units of electric network companies (PJSC Rosseti, IDGC of the North-West, Rosenergoatom, Leningrad and Beloyarsk Nuclear Power Plants, CJSC Gavrilovskoye Quarry Management Board, KNAUF Petrobord, PJSC KAMAZ, and many others).   Every visitor was provided detailed technical information.

Along with exhibiting its products, the SKB EP Company representatives took part in the International Energy Forum, where they delivered a report on the “Results of Import Phase out:  High-precision MIKO-21 Microohmmeter as an Alternative to Equipment of Foreign Manufacture!” The report arose interest and discussion in the audience.

The stand presented all the line of instruments that proved themselves at the market, namely,  PKV family analyzers for HV circuit breaker testing, the PUV control panels, the MIKO group microohmmeters and milliohmmeters, and instruments of the PKR group for OLTC transformers testing.

Specialists who had experience in operating the HV circuit breaker analyzers of PKV family were interested in peculiarities of their use on particular HV equipment and expressed desire to substitute the obsolete models (PKV/V2, PKV/U2, PKV/M4, PKV/M5, etc.) by modern ones, such as PKV/M6N, PKV/M7, and PKV/U3.

Users of the MIKO-7 and MIKO-8 milliohmmeters noted their automatic functions and were interested in new instruments for electric resistance measurements in inductance and inductance-free circuits.  Many visitors of the stand that are already using the test cables of SKB EP manufacture noted their operating and ergonomic benefits over the cables of other manufacturers.

Visitors of the stand who saw the SKB EP milliohmmeters for the first time noted full automation of the measurements as the main advantage over similar instruments, which allows considerable saving of working time.

The MIKO-7 and MIKO-8 milliohmmeters are modern instruments whose design is focused on the convenience of operation, that is, some adjustments and calculations are done automatically, without participation of a user:

  • Automatic calculation of relative differences in electric resistances between three phases of windings;
  • Automatic conversion of linear electric resistance of windings with "triangle" or "star" connection into electric resistance of phase windings;
  • Automatic conversion of electric resistance of a winding measured at current temperature into electric resistance at passport temperature (with account of the winding material);
  • Automatic calculation of deviations of electric resistances of windings (measured and reduced to  passport temperature) from passport values of resistances;
  • Automatic calculation of the winding temperature based on the measured and passport values of its electric resistance and passport temperature, and some others.

Along with the well-known instruments the latest developments were also presented at the stand: MIKO-10 and MIKO-21 microohmmeters, as well as the PKR-2M for transformer OLTC testing.

Modern MIKO-21 microohmmeter is a high-precision instrument (error does not exceed ±0.05%), range of measurements is from 0.1 mkOhm to 2 Ohm, rated current is up to 200A.  The instrument is also noted for such parameters as:
  • MIKO-21 integrates four modes for HV circuit breaker transient resistances measurements with account of the in-built current transformers;
  • Availability of an in-built data base of passport values of resistances (Rtransient) of circuit breaker contacts allows automatic comparison of measured and passport values, subject to circuit breaker brand indication;
  • Interactive control using a film keyboard and a sensor screen of a color display, and advanced functions (control from PC, USB/USB Flash ports) facilitate data transfer from the instrument to the company's data base.

The MIKO-10 microohmmeter is noted for its operating features:

  • A unique ergonomic case is comfortably placed on the wrist and fixed by tighten belts, thus leaving both hands free to facilitate the measurements (the instrument can be easily removed from the wrist and fastened to a belt or installed on any flat surface).
  • Its low weight (0.5 kg), small size (150x110x55mm) and an in-built battery allow us to call it a mobile self-powered instrument.

A range of measurements of the MIKO-10 is from 1 to 100 000 mkOhm, measurement current is 10A, error does not exceed ±0.2%. The instrument is under pilot operation for being entered into the State Registrar of Instruments (it is expected to be certified in November 2016).

A new microohmmeter has a number of other functional and technical peculiarities that make it superior to similar instruments available at the market.

A lot of positive references and recommendations were given during the Fair. We express our gratitude to all the visitors who showed trust and interest towards our product and gave preference to the SKB EP instruments. We would be glad to cooperate with you in the coming year.

If you could not visit the Company’s stand, you can always ask questions on the instruments you are interested in by email: skb@skbpribor.com or by telephone: +7(3952) 719-148, or via feedback at the website.

If you are interested in more detailed study of the instruments, the SKB EP Company can hold training workshops for specialists of your Company. The workshop plan will be customer-oriented, i.e., developed with account of procured instruments and/or instruments the customer is interested in, and of the available objects for diagnosis. You can make an order for the workshop at our site, and our specialists will contact you.
