New development of SKB EP at Electric Networks of Russia 2017 Fair
This Fair is annually held in Moscow in December. This year it was opened for visitors from December 5 till December 8; it was traditionally held at VDNH (Exhibition of National Economy Achievements), Pavilion #75.
SKB EP has been participating in such a Fair for several years and 2017 was not an exception. The SKB EP stand was visited by more than 80 companies including well-known manufacturers of HV circuit breakers and transformers; construction and erection companies; companies dealing with engineering, construction and commissioning of substations, representatives of Russian Railways Company as well as by different business units of electric network companies: PJSC ROSSETI; PJSC Federal Grid Company; PJSC MOESK, et. al.
This year the stand included some devices that have already recommended themselves at the market of equipment for measurements. Along with its well-known devices the SKB EP Company presented new developments, namely, MIKO-9 milliohmmeter and a prototype of PKV/M17 devices for high-circuit breaker testing.
Every visitor had chance to see the device, to get familiar with its functions, to get consultations on the issues he is interested in.
The PKV/M17 analyzer for high-voltage circuit breaker tests ensures complex diagnosis of all the types of high-voltage circuit breakers from 6kV to 750kV of soviet, Russian and foreign manufacture (Siemens, Areva, ABB, Alstom , etc.) in compliance with the engineering documentation:
- It ensures control of time, travel and speed characteristics of high-voltage circuit breakers, separators and short-circuiters at three poles simultaneously at up to two breaks per pole or up to six breaks per one pole.
- It has an in-built microohmmeter for measuring the transient resistance of HV circuit breaker contacts by pole cables; it incorporates in-built templates for measuring the particular models of circuit breakers.
- It incorporates a unique method capable to reveal circuit breaker defects at early stages of their occurrence, which 1.5 times extends the high-voltage equipment service life and reduces maintenance and repair costs by 30%.
- This is the first instrument of Russian manufacture that offers First Trip express analysis of a high-voltage circuit breaker state.
- All the computations are done automatically and are displayed in the form of understandable graphics and in tabular form.
The MIKO-9 milliohmmeter is designed for measuring the AC electric resistance in the inductance and inductance-free circuits in the range from 10 mkOhm ÷ 30 kOhm on currents of up to 10A. Furthermore, MIKO-9 has a number of functions that are different from those of its foreign analogues:
- Simultaneous connection to three transformer phases and measurement with automatic switch-over;
- Availability of a mode for resistance measurement across two windings simultaneously;
- Demagnetization mode of the transformer’s magnetic circuit;
- ‘Cooling test’ mode;
- DRM-test of OLTC devices;
- A number of other functions.
Note: The analyzer is under tests and pilot operation for being entered into the State Registrar of Measurement Instruments Its production is scheduled for the second quarter of 2018.
Along with new developments the devices that were marketed last year but are not so well-known by customers attracted attention of visitors. They are MIKO-21 and MIKO-10 microohmmeters.
The MIKO-21 microohmmeter is a high-precision instrument (error does not exceed ±0.05%), its range of measurements is from 0.1 mkOhm to 2 Ohm, and rated current is up to 200A. The instrument is also noted for such parameters as:
- Four modes for HV circuit breaker transient resistances measurements including the one with account of the in-built current transformers;
- Availability of an in-built data base of passport values of resistances (Rtransient) of circuit breaker contacts allows automatic comparison of measured and passport values, subject to circuit breaker brand indication;
- Interactive control using a film keyboard and a sensor screen of a color display, and advanced functions (control from a PC, USB/USB Flash ports) facilitate data transfer from the instrument to the company's data base.
The MIKO-10 microohmmeter is noted for its operating features:
- A unique ergonomic case is comfortably placed on the wrist and fixed by tighten belts, thus leaving both hands free to facilitate the measurements (the instrument can be easily removed from the wrist and fastened to a belt or installed on any flat surface).
- Its low weight (0.5 kg), small size (150x110x55mm) and an in-built battery allow us to call it a portable self-powered instrument.
- The range of measurement using MIKO-10 is from 1 to 100 000 mkOhm, test current is 10A, and error does not exceed ±0.2%.
A lot of positive references and recommendations were given during the Fair. We express our gratitude to all the visitors who showed trust and interest towards our product and gave preference to the SKB EP instruments. We would be glad to cooperate with you in the coming year.
If you could not visit the Company’s stand, you can always ask questions on the instruments you are interested in by email: skb@skbpribor.com, by telephone: +7(3952) 719-148, or via feedback at the website.
